You ever have an idea you gotta create but dunno what the hell you're going to do with it or how? I do.
Now I'm a somewhat emotionally stable grad, I'm pretty sure I can make a game. At least, I mean I can undertake a long term project. I've made short game for fun and to not get out of practice, but never anything *big* or better put, something I'd share/publish.
So whats the big idea?
A party-exploration game. Something where you and some buddies (friends or strangers of the net) get together in fantasy landscapes dotted with dungeons to go quest and loot. Particularly, the focus is on create more interesting if not possibly annoying combat technics for a first person game (see Daggerfall's melee system for a rough idea)
I've started (kinda) on this work now. All I've got are some ideas and a basic first-person controller and a janky melee system (much like Daggerfall's) but with time that should iron itself out. If I can keep the willpower to keep working, maybe there will be another devlog in the future.
PS: Take that Connor, this blog does get updated.
